Obituary of Robert Mulvey
Robert W. Mulvey
Age 79. At rest Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Symphony of Joliet, following a courageous battle with kidney disease. Born August 11, 1934 in Joliet, he was a lifelong resident of Crest Hill.
A 1952 graduate of Joliet Central High School, he was a United States Army veteran. Retired from ComEd after more than 40 years of service. Served as President and Treasurer of St. Anne Credit Union for 18 years and served four years on the Crest Hill City Council.
Bob loved to sing barbershop and in the church choir at the Cathedral and St. Anne Church. He loved sports, especially baseball, and was a pitcher for the Joliet Colts, coached baseball, and was an avid White Sox fan. He was also a member of the Rivals Club and enjoyed bocci ball, roller skating and shooting pool. He will be remembered for faithfully visiting the sick members of St. Anne and St. Ambrose who were in the hospital.
Loving husband of 53 years to Ann Marie (nee Sternisha) Mulvey; beloved father of Beverly A. (Ralph) McCutcheon of Dallas, NC, Barbara A. Fenoglio of Joliet, Robert M. Mulvey of Kansas City, MO, and Maureen A. Mulvey of Joliet; cherished grandfather of nine grandchildren, April (Ronnie) Baynard, Holly McCutcheon, Brad McCutcheon, Terry (Shelly) Fenoglio, Robert Fenoglio, Amber (Patrick) Cox, William Fenoglio, Michael Mulvey and Brenna Mulvey; proud great-grandfather of Damien Buchanan, Logan and Liam Fenoglio, and Calean and Ryleigh Cox, and Clairissa Baynard due in July; fond brother to Judith (late Ted) Wetherbee of Joliet, IL; and dear uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (nee Coppedge) Mulvey (1959); his father, William F. Mulvey; his mother, Edith (nee Winchell) Mulvey Couch; and one sister, Joann (Edward) Arambasich.
Funeral Services for Robert W Mulvey will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL. to St. Anne Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
