Obituary of William Stewart

William, J. Stewart, Jr. Age 86, of Minooka, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born April 17, 1927 in Joliet, he was the son of William J. and Martha M. (nee Secrest) Stewart, Sr. He was an Army veteran of World War II. A member of Teamsters Local #179, he was a truck driver for Joliet Warehouse and later Whiteford Warehouse. Surviving are his beloved wife, Helen H. (nee Haake) Stewart of Minooka; two sons, William J. (Cathy McLaughlin) Stewart, III of Minooka, and Robert A. (Bettie J. Hartline) Stewart of Crest Hill; grandchildren, Peggy A. (Kevin) Hoffman, Dawn M. (Rex) Layne, Jennifer (Gary) Browell, William J. (Kelly Wonderlin) Stewart IV, Renee S. (Michael) Maly, Robert A. Stewart, Jr., Kyle R. Stewart and Christopher T. Stewart; 12 great-grandchildren; one niece, Michele; and two nephews, Mike and Mark. Preceded by his parents; and one sister, Corrine (Bill) Keener. Funeral services for William J. Stewart, Jr. will be Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Joseph Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
