Obituary of Billy Garrison

Billy R. Garrison Age 81, of Shorewood, Passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center with his loving wife by his side. He was born December 15, 1932 in Sikeston, Missouri to the late Christine (Harden) and Delbert Garrison. Billy was raised near Flint, MI and had resided in the Joliet area for many years. Beloved husband of 35 years to Jean (Forte) Garrison; one brother, Don (Dena) Garrison of Flint, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles; and one sister, Bonnie (late Neal) Cason. Billy, a U.S. Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War, retired from Folger Adams Lock Mfg. after over 30 years of service. He was a people person and true outdoorsman who thoroughly enjoyed fishing. Other hobbies included golf and bowling. Funeral Services for Billy Ray Garrison will be held Monday, March 24, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. at Essington Rd., Joliet. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to his wife for future distribution to charitable causes.
