Obituary of Isabel Elberts

Isabel L. Elberts "Ibby" Age 87, a lifetime Joliet resident, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born March 2, 1927 to the late Joseph and Helen (nee Schreiner) Elberts. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joseph, Richard, Leonard, James and Robert; sisters, Helen Briske, Kathleen Oliver, Geraldine Huston and several cousins. Ibby, over the years, had lost many dear friends including James Myers, Merrily Kane, Ida and Marie Brinskelle. Ibby, a devoted aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and fond cousin to many, is also survived by Terry (Jan) Barnes and family; Dr. Tom Kane and family; best friend, Lydia (Dave) Foreman and family; sister-in-law, Darlene Elberts (Ray) Fagan; She will also be missed by her card and Bingo friends as well as all her buddies at the Fin-Nuala Condo Association. An avid card and Bingo player, she also loved a great meal and the lively conversation that would ensue. A lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was a very devout catholic woman. Ibby will forever be remembered by her friends and family as a very giving person who was fun-loving and extremely thoughtful. She will truly be missed. Funeral Services for Isabel L. Elberts will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 404 N. Hickory Street, Joliet where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to St. John Catholic Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice.
