Obituary of Karen Wegner

Karen Wegner (nee Orr) Age 68. At rest Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Briar Place Nursing Center in Indian Head Park, IL. Born in Joliet to the late Glenn and Inez Orr, she was a lifelong resident. Graduate of Lockport Township High School, she received her associates degree from Joliet Junior College. She was an active volunteer within the community. Survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Richard R. Wegner, Sr. of Joliet; two sons, Richard R. (Ragina) Wegner II of Watertown, WI and John (Molly) Wegner of Joliet; four grandchildren, Richard R. III, Nathaniel, Tristan and Charlotte Wegner; one sister, Caroline (late Charles) Vespie of Texas; one brother, Richard Orr of Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her sister, Glenna (Francis) Leiker. As it was Karen's wish, Cremation Rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward and Christ Episcopal Church, 206 N. Midland at Campbell Sts., Joliet. Rev. Dr. Kathryn L. White officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the charity of donor's choice would be appreciated. Visitation SATURDAY morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
