Obituary of Donald Fox

Donald E. Fox, Sr. Age 75. Suddenly Wednesday, April 2, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer. Born on May 25, 1938 in Joliet to the late Gilbert and Muriel (nee Cecil) Fox. A graduate of Peotone High School, Class of 1956. Member of the Joliet Bowling Association Hall of Fame and won the 1977 National Tournament with Rendels GMC Team. Retired from Plainfield Tool & Die Engineering in 2001 with 35 years of service. A member of St. John Lutheran Church for 25 years. An avid bowler and fisherman. He enjoyed fishing trips to Minnesota for 40 years with his friends, fishing with his best friend, Denny Tonelli, breakfast with his buddies at Nabby's and the Fox family reunions. He especially enjoyed time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Caroline A. (nee Schulz); son, Donald, Jr. (Janice) Fox; daughter, Cindy (Jonathan) Clark; grandchildren, Michael Fox and Jenna and Diana Clark; siblings, Gilbert, Jr. (Nancy) Fox, Ivor Fox, Betty (Bill); sister-in-law, Ruth (Steve) Schuler; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Thomas Fox; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Fox. Donald E. Fox, Sr. will lie in state Monday, April 7, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church, 2650 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL 60435 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
