Obituary of Frank Kern

Frank E. Kern "Bunny" Age 83. At rest Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Emeritus of Joliet Courtyard. Born September 3, 1930 in Joliet and a lifetime resident. Employed as an engineer with ComEd for 42 years, retiring in 1992. Member of the Church of St. Jude, Joliet. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Florence M. (nee Timoney) (2008); his father, Frank E. Kern, Sr. (1960); mother, Bernice L. (nee Cherven) Kern (1999); one daughter, Debra L. Sing (1998); brother, Jack Kern. Survived by two daughters, Sharon A. (Randy) Alling of Channahon and Susan M. (Steve) Canupp of Marion, Il; one son, Terry L. (Mary) Kern of Joliet; grandchildren, Stephanie (Fred) Kappel, Shawna Berg, Evan Alling, Jordan (Michael) Driscoll, Eryn (Mike) Ruffatto, Jennifer, Emily and Brandon Kern, Sara (Brandon) Paialii; five great-grandsons, Fred, Matt, Andrew, Daniel and Alex; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Frank E. "Bunny" Kern will be Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 9:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to the Church of St. Jude for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Angels Grace Hospice would be appreciated.
