Obituary of Stella Cary

Stella M. Cary (Alves) (nee Malinowski) Age 93, of Lockport, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home. Born August 30, 1920 in Morris, IL. Stella was a lover of music, art and literature. She loved to travel, breathing in the beauty of nature. Her sense of humor kept her going through the last weeks of her life. She was amazed by the loving care she received at Our Lady of Angels. Her family is forever grateful for the staff's care and love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stefan and Marie Malinowski; husband, Joseph W. Alves (1979); son, James Alves (1987); siblings, Julia Munson, Josephine Arneson, Frank Malinowski, Michael Malinowski, Edward Malinowski, Marie Selep, and Helen Phillips. Surviving are her husband, William Cary; sons, J. Thomas Alves and Kevin R. Alves; brother, Joseph Malinowski; and grandson, Kevin Alves, Jr. It was Stella's wish to donate her body to the Anatomical Gift Association for the advancement of medical research. A Memorial concert by Barbara Nissman will be announced for late June 2014. Memorials to Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
