Obituary of Mary Ann Murphy

Mary Ann A. Murphy (nee Janovyak) Age 71, of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born August 18, 1942 in Chicago to Louis and Mary (nee Marusak) Janovyak, she was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. She worked as a secretary for the former First National Bank of Wilmington and Lombardi Chevrolet-Buick. Mary Ann was an active member of St. Rose Catholic Church and participated as a volunteer in many organizations and her daughters' school activities. She will be remembered for her baking, especially Mary Ann's Potica. Survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Robert J. Murphy of Wilmington; three daughters, Eileen (James) Valentino of Elk Grove Village, Lorraine (Brian) McGuire of Naperville and Charlotte Murphy of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Mitchell McGuire, James "Tony" Valentino, Meredith McGuire and Tara Valentino; one brother, Lawrence (Carol) Janovyak of Joliet; a sister-in-law, Teri Janovyak of Joliet; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Preceded by her parents; and one brother, Albert Janovyak. A Memorial Mass for Mary Ann Murphy will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 604 S. Kankakee Street, Wilmington, IL 60481. Inurnment will be in Ss. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery, Joliet, following Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kuzma Care Cottage Food Pantry, 635 S. Main Street, Wilmington, IL 60481 would be appreciated. Memorial visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Rose Church. For more information (815) 751-5500.
