Obituary of Robert Taylor

Robert L. Taylor, Jr. "Bob" Age 84. Born July 27, 1929, and valiantly earned his wings for his next adventure on April 30, 2014 at 9:33 p.m., while held in the arms of his devoted daughter, holding the hand of his wife, and surrounded by his loving family. He retired from Union Local #444 in 1992 following 41 years of service. A true, honest and trusting family man and friend, he loved spending time with his family, friends and beloved puppies, Maggie and Dirty Martini. Preceded in death by his parents, Anna (nee Gleason) and Robert L. Taylor, Sr.; brothers, Ronnie, Richard "Dicky", and Raymond; one sister, Corinne "Corky" (late Don) Dwyer; sister-in-law, Grace (late Patrick) Norton; niece, Cheryl "Cheri" Hauert Nugent; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Corinne "Corky" (nee Wilhelmi); his children, Lori (Matthew) Taylor-Esposito and Bobby Taylor III; granddaughters, Jordyn Taylor and Genevieve "Evie" Esposito; his sister, Mary Ann (Warren) Hauert; special nieces and Goddaughters, Kathleen (Vern) Elgas, Debbie (Robert) Skolds and Debi (Jimmy) Cottle; sister-in-law, Sandie (late Ronnie) Taylor; former daughter-in-law, Kathleen (John Schultz) Taylor; and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his wonderful caregivers with Vitas Hospice, family friends, Wanda Reeder, Ron Smiles, Chief Terry Lemming and all the members of the Lockport Police Department. Funeral Services for Bob Taylor will be Monday, May 5, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lockport for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
