Hugh D. McCord, Jr. "Sonny" Age 55. At rest Friday, May 2, 2014 in Joliet following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Joliet to Hugh Sr. and Gloria (Kufner) McCord. Formerly employed by the Diocese of Joliet. A delegate of Northern Illinois Region of Alcoholics Anonymous. Surviving are 4 sisters, Linda (Anthony) Pavnica of New Lenox, Debbie Couch of New Lenox, Sharon (Michael) Meadows of Hayden, Idaho and Michelle (Michael) Lougheran of Naperville; dear uncle of Heather (Ed) Goewy, Anthony Pavnica, Brian (Lisa) Pavnica, Trina (Scott) Parker, Jeffrey Couch, Michaela and Madisen Lougheran; great-uncle of Mia, Noah, Emma, Hannah, Jacob, Cali, Luke, Jack, Reese, Cole, Kiera and Jake; and his faithful companion, Sparky. Preceded by his parents; maternal grandmother, Lubica Kufner; and paternal grandmother, Caroline McCord. Funeral Services for Sonny McCord will be Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
