"Bob"
Bob Briski, age 59, devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Margaret (nee Masura) Briski; his loving children Robert (Lindsay), Daniel, Christine (Matthew) Brennan; his beloved grandchildren Brent Robert and Audrey Ethel Briski; his father Joseph; his brother Joseph (Lynn) and sister Mary Lou (Dick) Stonitsch; also numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Florence Briski (nee Bostjancic).
Bob graduated from Lockport Township High School and then attended Lewis University with a degree in Business Administration. He was employed by First Community Bank of Joliet as Vice President with 30 years experience. Bob was a well-respected banking veteran serving in the consumer loan and mortgage lending area. He started his career at Chicago Title and Trust, followed by Heritage Bank (later AmeriFed) and Chase Bank after numerous acquisitions.
In his earlier years he obtained his realtors license and was also a member of the Joliet Federation of Musicians as a drummer. Bob was actively involved in the community with Board memberships for charitable organizations including Boy Scouts, Chamber of Commerce and March of Dimes.
Bob's first love was his family, always putting their needs first. Bob married his high school sweetheart, he met Margaret when they were 15 years old. His greatest accomplishment was seeing each of his children graduate from college. Bob treasured every minute with his family and being a "PaPa" to his grandchildren. He loved being outdoors particularly working in the yard on numerous projects. Bob was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Bob's life will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 with visitation from 2-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet. Funeral Services Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill.
