"Mickie"

Age 85. Peacefully Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with her family by her side. Born in West Frankfort and a longtime Joliet area resident retired from Chef's Kitchen at Jewel Food Store on Larkin Avenue after many years of service. Formerly employed at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant Gift Shop. She was also a telephone operator for Western Electric. Her favorite love in life was spending time with family and friends. She also was an avid bingo player, she loved the slot machines and enjoyed gardening in her yard. She especially enjoyed those special times with grandchildren and going to craft shows with her daughters.
Preceded by her parents, Anthony and Antonia (Kauzlarich) Basich; one sister, Lorraine (William) Supancic.
Survived by four daughters, Cheryl (the late Fred) Ieler of Minooka, Susan (John) Claassen of Mt. Sterling, IL, Joyce (Rick) Swolley of Joliet and Laura (Randy) Ruth of Shorewood; one son, Donald (Rebecca) Schneider of Ladd, IL; 14 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Chris) Ieler, Sheri (Jeremy) Kennay, Jennifer (Jason) Pawloski, Stephanie (David) Peters, Tony Schneider, John and Alissa Claassen, Joseph Claassen, Meagan Vollmer, Mark Claassen, Ricky (Courtney) Swolley and Kailee Swolley and Alicia, Samantha and Hunter Ruth; 11 great-grandchildren; two nephews, Billy (Norma) Supancic and Brian and Sandy Supancic also survive.
Funeral Services for Mickie Schneider will be Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Cremation Rites will be accorded following her funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
