Obituary of Leora Ward

Leora B. Ward (nee Watson) Age 89, formerly of Shorewood, IL passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Symphony of Joliet. Leora was a devout Christian who served her church faithfully as a minister's wife in the Church of the Nazarene. She also loved to cook, sing, and being a grandmother. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandma. Survived by her son, Robert (Lavern) Ward of Benton, MO; two daughters-in-law, Sandy Ward of Shorewood and Judy Nelson of Audubon, MN; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert "Bud" Watson; two sisters, Emma Russell and Blanche Simpson; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Rev. McOldham Ward; two sons, Harold Ward and Dennis Ward; two brothers, William and David; and four sisters, Esther, Eleanor, Pauline and Marie. Funeral Services for Leora B. Ward will be Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
