George Kobart
Age 71, of Minooka, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the University of Chicago Hospital, Chicago.
Born August 9, 1942 in Joliet, he was the son of the late George E. and Elizabeth R. (nee Fracaro) Kobart. He lived in and attended school in Lockport, IL. He retired from Caterpillar, Inc. on April 1, 1999 after 33 years of service, and where he was a member of Machinists Local #851.
George was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Minooka. He attended weekly adoration at Annunciation Monastery. He also was a member of Chi-Ro Rod and Gun Club. An avid outdoorsman, he loved the White Sox, Bears and Blackhawks.
Surviving are his beloved wife and high school sweetheart, Constance (nee Posega) Kobart of Minooka; his devoted son, Michael G. (Joan Garbolski) Kobart; one cherished granddaughter, Theresa J. Kobart; two sisters, Pat Ruettiger and Janet Henderson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for George Kobart will be Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Mary Catholic Church, Minooka, for Mass at 10:00 a.m.. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Minooka. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Annunciation Monastery, 6200 E. Minooka rd., Minooka, IL 60447 would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
