Obituary of Norma Mitchell

Norma A. Mitchell (nee Olin) Age 92, of Joliet, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Norma was a loving and devoted mother, and a caring and kind grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active member of Theodore Street Lutheran Church. She will be missed by her family and many friends. Surviving are her children, Rose (late Brian) Helmer of Crest Hill, Doug (Mary Ellen) Mitchell of Shorewood, and Bob (Jane) Mitchell of Shorewood; one son-in-law, Ken (late Sharon) Neese of Plainfield; eight grandchildren, Jeff (Susan) Neese, Michael (Nikki) Neese, Julie (Fred) Yax, Wendy (Jamie) Kosek, Jodi (Mark) Sorensen, Sarah (Brian) Gimbel, Craig (Kelly) Mitchell and Andrea Mitchell; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded by her beloved husband, Alfred Mitchell, Jr. (1993); one daughter, Sharon Neese; her parents, Walter and Anna (Johnson) Olin; four brothers, Emmett, Nick, Gerald and Lloyd Olin; and one sister, Edna Yangas. Funeral Services for Norma Mitchell will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
