Obituary of Marietta Chism

Marietta Chism (nee Fritz) Age 89, of Coal city and Channahon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. During her final days she enjoyed visiting with and being surrounded by her loving family. Marietta was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be remembered for her humor, determination, warmth and insight, as well as her cooking and baking skills. Surviving are her children, Tim Chism of Boynton Beach, FL, Dennis Chism of Lantana, FL, Marrilee (Dale) Talkington of Morris, and Rick (Jennifer) Chism of Marseilles; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Ula Pritchett of Petersburg, IL; one brother, Robert (Phyllis) Fritz of Omaha, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, Otis "Ben" Chism (1976); one son, Benjamin Chism; one daughter, Penny Bell; three grandchildren; her parents, Delbert and Viola (nee Hess) Fritz; four brothers and one sister. Funeral Services for Marietta Chism will be Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.
