Obituary of Vernon Carey

Carey, Vernon L. Jr. Age 71. Vernon L. Carey Jr. passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at his residence. He was born August 18, 1941. Graduate of Joliet Catholic High School and retired from Caterpillar in 2002 after 43 years of service. A loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He was a member of Moran A.C., Southside Civic Club, Chaney Club and a long time member of the Pekin Country Club. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed golf, football, and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Leslie Carey Sr. and Doris K. McTee. Survived by two children, Brian (Maureen) Carey of Joliet and Janet (Greg) DeNardis also of Joliet; four grandchildren, Brian, Christine, Tony and Jenna; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Serena; three sisters, Carol (Joseph) Rainford, Phyllis (James) Johnson and Mary Lou Carey; three brothers, Laverne (Judy) Binzen, Richard (Betty) Carey and Bill Carey; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Vernon L. Carey Jr. will be Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
