Obituary of Francis Vidmar

Francis J. Vidmar "Frank" Age 79. Peacefully Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice home. Born in Crest Hill and a lifelong Crest Hill resident. A graduate of George Williams College with a Masters degree in health science education, Lewis College with a bachelors degree in biology, Joliet Catholic High School, Class of 1952. He started his education at Chaney Grade School. Retired from Westview Junior High School District #365U (A. Vito Martinez Middle School) in Romeoville after over 40 years of service. Preceded by his parents, George and Mary (nee Bajt) Vidmar; one sister, Caroline (George) Buhmann; and three brothers, John, William and Edmund (Cele) Vidmar. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years today, Nancy K. (nee Lander) Vidmar of Crest Hill; two sons, George (Cris) Vidmar of Crest Hill and Jim Vidmar of Mokena, IL; one daughter, Mary Kay (Daniel) Fleming of Lockport, IL; five grandchildren, David Castellucci, Katie and Sara Vidmar and Kevin and Matthew Fleming; one sister, Marilyn (Tom) Carey of Scottsdale, AZ; one sister-in-law, Mary Vidmar; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Francis J. Vidmar will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00. Interment St. Mary Nativity Catholic Cemetery.
