Obituary of Marguerite Castillo

Marguerite A. Castillo (nee Mendoza) "Marge" Age 75, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born January 9, 1939 in Ottawa, IL, she was a lifelong Joliet area resident. Retired department manager at Rustcraft Greeting Card Company, she also worked in food service at School District #86. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Church of St. Jude, Homer Congregational Church and the Ladies Auxiliary Cantigny Post VFW #367. Preceded in death by her husband, Guty "John" Castillo (May 24, 1999); and her parents, Pascual and Delores (nee Magaña) Mendoza. Survived by three sons, Andrew (Chris) Castillo of Joliet, Robert (Rene) Castillo of Dwight and John (Cindy) Castillo of Joliet; nine grandchildren, Jeffery (Bryan) Early, Andrew (Vanessa) Castillo, Ashley (Rob) Castillo all of Joliet, Heather (Martin Alonso, Jr.) Castillo of Bloomington, Katy Castillo and Robert Castillo, both of Dwight; John Castillo and Nickolas Castillo, both of Joliet, and William (Jina) Peña of Joliet; her great-grandchildren, Andrea, Mai, Andrew, Melany, Mariah and Andy, Jr.; two sisters, Grace (Jesse) Moreno and Mary Dolores Mendoza; two brothers, Frank (Antoniete) Mendoza and Rick (Laurie) Mendoza; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Marguerite A. Castillo will be Thursday, July 10, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd., Joliet. Cremation rites will be accorded and she and her husband's urns will be interred at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday, July 9th from 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
