Robert Edward Scully
Age 86. Peacefully Wednesday July 9, 2014 at his residence. Born June 16, 1928 in Joliet to the late Emmett Robert and Bessie (DeMiller) Scully, he was a graduate of St. Patrick's Grade School and Joliet Catholic High. A U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from the the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #382, National Association of Letter Carriers and life member of VFW Cantigny Post #367. He enjoyed the St. Patick Grade School Class of 1942 reunions. Bob was very proud of his irish heritage. We know his irish eyes are smiling and until we meet again may God hold him in the palm of his hand.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Rosemary E. (nee Errek) Scully; two daughters, Kimberly (Brad) Walton of Custer Park, IL and Rebecca (Kevin) Juhant of Joliet; three grandchildren, Brianna (William) Johnson and Megan Walton; and Kevin Juhant, Jr.; and his great-granddaughter, Lydia Walton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Robert E. Jr.; sister, Bette Jones; and his nephew, Joseph Errek.
Funeral Services for Robert Edward Scully will be Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Ss. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery.
