Obituary of Joan Craig

Joan Craig (nee Skupien) Age 76, a long time Brookfield resident, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 28, 2014 at Meadowbrook Manor in Bolingbrook. She was born June 7, 1938 in Chicago, IL to the late Rose and Stanley Skupien, Joan was raised in the Pilsen neighborhood, attending St. Anne Catholic School. Beloved mother of Mark (Mona) Craig and Stanley (Donna) Craig; devoted grandmother of Catherine (Joe) Eirich, Samantha, Jackson and Jonathan Craig; and many nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her parents; and siblings. Joan, a movie buff and hopeful lotto player, also enjoyed creating her grandchildren's halloween costumes, baking and the occasional trip to the riverboat casino. Funeral Services for Joan Craig will be held Friday August 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment to follow in Plainfield Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
