Obituary of Lawrence Spisak

Lawrence R. Spisak "Larry" Age 81. At rest suddenly, Monday, August 18, 2014 at his late residence. Born in Joliet, he was a lifelong resident. A U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany. Retired from Simkins (St. Regis) Paper and Box Company following 38 years of service. Former member of the Joliet Moose Lodge #300. Larry enjoyed a lifetime of fishing for catfish in the Kankakee River and Plainfield Fishing Resort, hunting, gardening or anything pertaining to the outdoors, and spending time in his garage with his friends, Gary, John and Daisy. He enjoyed evenings on the back porch with his cat, Mickey. Loving husband of the late Gerry (nee Hiner) Spisak (Oct. 28, 2014); beloved father of Christine (Bruce) Criss of Plainfield; dearest brother of Maryann D'Amico of Joliet; and uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie Schumacher (2007); parents, George and Mary (nee Sirnak) Spisak; one sister, Florence; and three brothers, Elmer, George and Clarence. As it was Larry's wish, Cremation Rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service for Larry and Gerry will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the Fred C.
