Obituary of Robert Tkaczyk

Robert R. Tkaczyk "Bob" Age 78. Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. He was born January 27, 1936 to the late Sophie (nee Janosica) and Joseph Tkaczyk in Joliet and had resided in the Joliet/Lockport area all his life. He attended St. Thaddeus grade school, Joliet Catholic High through his junior year and graduated from Joliet Township High School. A U.S. Air Force Veteran, Bob retired from Local 75 after many years of dedicated service. He was a former member of the Lockport American Legion and St. Thaddeus Catholic Church. Bob enjoyed playing cards. especially poker. Survived by one brother, Bernie (late Joan) Tkaczyk; three sisters, Dorothy (Eugene) Nonnie, Irene (late John "Jay") Gordan and Elizabeth "Betty" (Ron) Lindsay. One cousin and many nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother Raymond in infancy. The Tkaczyk family would like to thank the RN's, CNA's and entire staff of Joliet's Hospice Home for the wonderful care provided Bob. The comfort, concern and warm personalities will always be remembered. Funeral Services for Robert R. Tkaczyk will be Monday, August 25, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to Holy Cross Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
