Obituary of Charles Thomas

Charles E. Thomas Age 61, of Joliet, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family. Born October 30, 1952 in Joliet, he was the son of the late Edward and Charlene (nee Brusatori) Thomas. He was a graduate of St. Patrick Grade School, Joliet Catholic High School and Northern Illinois University. He received his law degree from Washington University School of Law and served as both a prosecutor for 14 years for the Will County States Attorney and an attorney in private practice for many years. Chuck was a devoted husband and a loving father. He was an avid Cubs fan and will be remembered for his extensive baseball card collection. Surviving are his beloved wife, Cathy A. (nee Baber) Thomas of Joliet; his children, Ashley Thomas of Joliet and Matthew Thomas of Chicago; and one brother, Donald Thomas of Joliet. Preceded by his parents. Funeral Services for Charles E. Thomas will be Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Patrick Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Cremation Rites will be accorded following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Oncology-Hematology Associates Foundation, Presence St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
