Obituary of Simone Gremillion

Simone Marie Gremillion (nee Decat) Simone Marie Gremillion, age 91, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 25th, 2014, in the presence of her loving family. Survived by three children, James D. Gremillion of Joliet and his children Michelle and Jessica; Patrick (Tami) Gremillion and their children, Ryan (Ashley) and Sean of Joliet; and Wanda Marinic and her daughter, Christy, of Lake Forest; and three great-grandchildren, Louis, Noah and Gracie Simone. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Major James D. Gremillion (2006). Simone was born and raised in Belgium, where she later met her beloved husband, James. Major James D. Gremillion's military career allowed him and Simone to raise their children in multiple countries and countless cultural experiences. Simone spent many years enjoying the excitement of her growing family, while being an avid gardner and gourmet cook. She was actively involved in the local Joliet Woman's Club, Newcomer's Club and The French Club. When asked how she spent her day, Simone, responded "I was out galavanting." Simone was a woman filled with love, grace and poise. Her delicate soul was called to heaven and will be greeted by her loving husband. A Memorial Service for Simone M. Gremillion will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.
