Obituary of Orville Miller

Orville C. Miller Age 66 . Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Loyola University Medical Center after a long, courageous battle with colon cancer. Born October 12, 1947 in Morris to the late Orville and Allma Miller. A lifetime Morris resident, graduate of Morris High School class of '65. Retired after 25 years of service from the 7-Up Bottling Company, and more recently worked at School District 54 for 16 years until 2009. A United States Air Force veteran and member of the American Legion Post 294. Member of the F.O.E., and a former member of the Moose Lodge and the Morris Country Club. Orville enjoyed golf, was an avid Bears, Blackhawks and White Sox fan, he enjoyed being outside and took great pride in his yard. Known affectionately in the neighborhood as Captain Orv, he was always the life of the party, had a quick wit and a contagious smile. Survived by his loving wife Debbie L. (nee Enger) Miller; his daughter, Tiffany (Jason) Jensen; his son, Ryan Miller; and grandchildren Alyssa, Ariana and Kaleb Miller, and Maggie Jensen. Preceded by his parents; his sister, Betty G. Miller; and his father and mother-in-law, Burdett and Lucy Enger. Funeral services for Orville Miller will be Friday, September 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment with military honors to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials in his name can be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
