Obituary of Kaye Thompson

Kaye Catherine Thompson (nee Delaney) Age 73, of Elwood, Illinois, passed away September 6, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born September 7, 1940 to Gerald J. and Anarita C. (nee Sherlock) Delaney in Joliet, Illinois. Co-Owner of Thompson's Bar and Grill in Elwood, IL., member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Manhattan, IL and a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan. Survived by her four daughters, Deborah M. (Chris) Holt, Patricia A. (Scott) Smith, Sharon S. (Steve) Lohmar and Lora K. Thompson; her beloved canine companion, Gus; four grandchildren, Hanna Holt, Rachel, Sophia Wilhelmi and Robby Smith. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. "Bob" Thompson; son, Robert A. Thompson, Jr.; and her parents, Gerald J. and Anarita C. Delaney. Kaye will be deeply missed by her daughters and grandchildren whom she enjoyed spending time with. You rock Mom. A heartfelt thank you to our family friend and nurse, Lisa Puelo for all her support and tireless care of our mother during this difficult time and Linda, our nurse from Joliet Area Community Hospice for the comfort she had provided . Funeral Services for Kaye C. Thompson will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manhattan for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to her family for distribution to several causes near and dear to Kaye's heart. Visitation Wednesday, 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
