Obituary of Helen Johnson

Helen M. Johnson (nee Pluth) Age 92. Passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Salem Village in Joliet. Born February 1, 1922 in Joliet to the late Helen (nee Golobitch) and John Pluth, she was a lifetime resident. Beloved mother of Carolyn (Dr. Jay) Larkin of Shorewood and Alan (Joni) Johnson of Naples, FL; Loving grandmother of Holly (Harold) Schultz of Minooka, IL, Alan S. Johnson of Dubuque, IA, Todd (Kristyn) Johnson of Plainfield, IL and Jill (Roger) Williams of Flippin, AR. Proud great grandmother of Brandon, Kaitlyn, Paige and Van Martin. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Richard Johnson; parents; sisters, Mayme Skoff, Fran Papesh; brothers, John, Frank, Joseph and Albert Pluth. Helen will be fondly remembered for her loving and caring ways. She was a wonderful baker, especially skilled in preparing apple studel and potica. A special thank you to all her caregivers at Salem Village, Willow Falls and Senior Star, and to Vitas Hospice for all their help and support. Funeral Services for Helen M. Johnson will be Tuesday September 16, 2014, 10:00 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
