Obituary of Robert Sikyta

Robert O. Sikyta Age 75, of Romeoville, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center Emergency Room. Born January 30, 1939 in Stickney, IL, he was the son of Robert and Lillian Violet (nee Kouba) Sikyta. He was a veteran of the United States Army and the Army Reserve. Bob worked as Credit Manager for Bornquist, Inc., Chicago, for over 25 years. He was active in the Grand Haven Retirement Community and its many activities including the Theatre Company. He was especially proud of his work with the Disabled Veterans Golf Outing. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's many activities, golfing, bowling, and following the Chicago Cubs. Surviving are two sons, Ross (Cathy) Sikyta of Normal, and Brad (Kelli) Sikyta of Mokena; four grandchildren, Ashley, Melanie and Joey Sikyta, and Robert Sikyta; two brothers, Jim (Barbara) Sikyta of Homer Glen, and Larry (Jayne) Sikyta of Lee's Summit, MO; his wife's sister, Joan (late George) Delimata of Raleigh, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his wife, Carol A. (nee Ouska) Sikyta (May 13, 2007); and his parents. Funeral services for Robert O. Sikyta will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday September 16, 2014 at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 1214 S Hamilton St, Lockport, IL. Visitation will be held Monday, from 4-8 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
