Obituary of Sharon Cain

Sharon K. Cain (nee Emerick) Age 71, a lifetime Joliet resident, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Symphony of Joliet. She was born April 19, 1943 to the late Ruth Ann (nee Willard) and Robert Emerick, Sr. Survived by three daughters, Donna (Rafael) Cole, Dawn (Allen) Casey and Tracey Cain; one son, Michael (Michelle) Cain-Rivera; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Janet) Emerick, Jr; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jordan Casey; and her beloved partner, Gilbert Rivera. Sharon, an extremely kind woman, rose to the challenge of balancing a very full work schedule and raising her family. She opened her heart and home to many of her kid's friends who needed a sympathetic ear coupled with a meal, shelter and perhaps some advice. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and always looked forward to Christmas decorating and baking holiday cookies. As it was Sharon's wish, Cremation Rites have been accorded. All friends and relatives are invited to gather for a Memorial Visitation at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 12 noon until the Memorial Service begins at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sharon's name to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Association would be appreciated. For information (815) 741-5500 or www.fredcdames.com
