Obituary of Lanney Jester

Lanney Jester Age 86. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Symphony of Joliet. He was born in Clearwater, Florida April 8, 1928 and was raised in Georgia. He was a 30+ year resident of Markham, IL before moving to the Romeoville/Joliet area to be near family. Lanney, a U.S. Navy veteran, was a retired painter. During retirement, he enjoyed working at Fairplay in Markham. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia; son, Harold Jester; and daughter, Lurlene Shivers. Survived by two grandsons, Leon Shivers and Willie Cobb; three granddaughters, Traci Shanklin, Lavon Neely and Sonja Love; and many great-grandchildren. As it was Lanney's wish, Cremation Rites have been accorded. Full Military Honors followed by interment of his ashes will take place at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
