Obituary of Dorothy Moscato

Dorothy L. Moscato (nee Barnes) Age 86. At rest Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Joliet Area Community Hospice surrounded by her loving family. Born February 8, 1928 in Chicago, IL to H.R. and Elizabeth Barnes. Secretary to the Chief of Police of Shorewood for 27 years. Member of Ladies of the Lions, Elks Club and Holy Family Parish. Survived by her five children, Larry (Sherrie) Moscato of Hampshire, IL, Pam Moscato of Plainfield, Jean (Dana) Cervak of Orland Park, Chuck (Diane) Moscato of Shorewood and Kim (Kevin) Sass of Homer Glen; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her husband, Eugene V. Moscato (2006); her parents; brother, Robert Barnes; and sister, Ruth Coen. Services for Dorothy L. Moscato will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to Holy Family Catholic Church for Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. As it was Dorothy's wish, Cremation Rites have been accorded. Private interment St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Will County Humane Society, 24109 W. Seil Road, Shorewood or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. The family will receive all friends and relatives on Friday, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
