Obituary of Chester Wiencek

Chester J. Wiencek, Sr. Age 90. At rest Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family, to join his beloved wife 34 days later. Born November 3, 1924 in Chicago, IL to Joseph J. and Harriet Wiencek. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and Will County Wood Chippers. Chester proudly served his country during WWII U.S. Navy. Survived by his devoted children, Linda Oblazny, Chester Jr. (Kathy), Christine Zickus, James (Eileen), Michael (Julie), David (Henna) and Mary Ann Franc; proud grandfather of 18; great-grandfather of 12; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Loretta M.(nee Zec), of 67 years (October 25, 2014). Funeral Services for Chester J. Wiencek, Sr. will be Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Justice with full military honors under the auspices of the United States Navy. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Foundation would be appreciated. Visitation Tuesday, 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
