Obituary of Neil Peterson

Neil Peterson Age 92. Passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Park Pointe Healthcare and Rehab Center. Born August 11, 1922 to the late Elias and Ellen (nee Rofdal) Peterson. A longtime Grundy County area resident where Neil attended rural schools and farmed for many years. Neil married Margaret "Peggy" (nee Phillips) June 16, 1945 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris. He retired from Sheridan Prison as a Correctional Officer for over 18 years. Survived by his two children, Tom (Bonnie) Peterson and Mary Ann (Ron) Terry both of Seneca; grandchildren, Chris (Mary Ann) Peterson, Matt (Allison) Peterson, Jason (Tina) Terry, Chad (Christina) Terry, Justin (Heather) Terry all of Seneca, Mike (Lauryn) Peterson of Evanston and Marcy (Brandon) Babcock of Germantown Hills; 17 great grandchildren; in-laws, Rob (Betty) Phillips, Delores Phillips both of Morris and Rudy (Viv) Maierhofer of Seneca and several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded by his wife, parents and five brothers, Chester (Marian), Sidney (Doris), Alvin (Roberta), Glen (Selma) and Ernie (Kay) Peterson. Funeral services for Neil Peterson will be Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Rev. Philip W. Peterson will officiate. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Morris. In lieu of flowers memorials to Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice in his name would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 1201 W.
