Obituary of Alberto Patawaran

Alberto Baldoza Patawaran Age 53, of Crest Hill, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014, at his home after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer and end-stage renal disease. He was born on June 17, 1961, in the Philippines to Cleofe Baldoza and the late Pedro Patawaran. Albert, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, was employed as the Director of Information Technology Services at Chicago State University, and Senior Network Engineer at RR Donnelley Logistics. For several years, he also worked for Caterpillar, Inc. and Caterpillar Logistics Services. He was a beloved husband of 24 years to Arrileen "Arrie" (nee Andres) Patawaran and loving father of Aaron Patawaran and the late Aldrich Patawaran (2013). Alberto; is also survived by his mother, Cleofe;' stepmother, Nhung Nguyen, and mother-in-law, Erlinda Andres. He was also the fond brother and brother-in-law of Alexander, Nathie, Montesa, Albin, Janell, Alfred and Giselle Patawaran, Diana, Benny, Gloria and Rico Fernando, Marisa and Kenny Tonnesson, Arnie and John Bautista, Ardie and Gerry Ramel, Armynd and Harry Mercado, Lyneth, Arvin and Geraldine Andres, and Eric and Sheila Luna. He was the dear uncle of Michael, Marlon, Mario, Marissa, Albin Jr., Aaliyah, Jasmine, Mikalah, Asia, Madeline, Gabriel, and Julia Patawaran, Carmella, Amanda, Gabby and Emily Fernando, Hunter Rodell, Chase Tonnesson, Cierra Holloway, Charisse, Amboy and Toby Manalo, Caleb Natividad, Patricia Andres, Angelique and Aziel Bautista, Lorenzo and Bea Ramel, Herzy Mercado, and E.J. and Justine Luna. Albert loved God and had a passion to share Christ to anyone who would listen. He loved to cook for his family and friends and was very good at it. He was not only technologically and mechanically savvy, but was gifted with his hands, constantly improving the inside and outside of the house. He spent his spring and summer working on his bountiful vegetable garden. There, he would enjoy relaxing outside and drinking coffee while staring at his creation. Alberto also enjoyed sitting in front of his bonfire pit. He will be forever missed by the many family members and close friends he has left behind. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 28, 2014, from 1:00-6:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 W Black Rd, Joliet. Interment with full military honors will take place Monday, December 29, 2014, at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. All friends and relatives are invited to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. to process to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Albert's name would be greatly appreciated.
