Obituary of John McElroy

John McElroy, age 89, late of Plainfield, and formerly of Lake in the Hills and Elmhurst, died December 24, 2014. He was born April 27, 1925 in Chicago, and was the son of Dominic and Latice "Lottie" (Kulchek) McElroy. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army serving with the 723rd. Railway Operating Battalion. John retired from the City of Chicago where he worked many years as a sanitation worker. Survived by his three children, Mike (Jill) McElroy, Sandra (Wayne) Papciak, and Jeff (Denise) McElroy; and six grandchildren. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
