Berardino Alberico
Age 79. Suddenly, Friday, June 22, 2012 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center following complications arising from congestive heart failure. Born in Caramanico, Italy and a Joliet area resident since 1966. Retired from Sheffield Steel in 1995 after over 27 years of service. A member of the Italian American Cultural Society and South Wilmington Sportsman Club. Berardino was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to garden and take care of his fruit trees. He also was a 50 year wine maker and connoisseur.
Preceded by his parents, Vitantonio and Mafalda Alberico; father and mother-in-law, Luigi and Antoniella Alberico; and one son-in-law, Gino Piccioli.
Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marianna of Channahon; 2 daughters, Mary (Richard) Hart of Diamond,IL and Ann (Patrick) Fox of Channahon; 2 grandsons, Joseph (Liz) Piccioli and John (Liz) Fox; 2 granddaughters, Gina (Gene) Ketelaar and Jennie (David) Cleaves; 3 step grandchildren, Jerry (Marilou) Hart, Jennifer Hart and Joyce (Charles) Metoyer; 5 great grandchildren, Gianna, Dominic, Mia, Brody and Morgan; 2 brothers, Ralph (Marianne) and Paul (Bernadine) Alberico; 3 sisters, Connie (Tony) D'Addario, Phyllis (Vic) Carusi and Antonette (Frank) Mendoza; brother-in-law Joseph (Teresa) Alberico; sister-in-law, Angie (Tony) Brandolino; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Berardino Alberico will be Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Ann Catholic Church in Channahon, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
