Obituary of Esther Chamberlain

Esther Juanita Chamberlain Passed away peacefully on February 27, 2012 at Park Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Morris, Illinois. She was born November 23, 1917 to the late John and Ada (Foster) Spiegel in Wethersfield, IL. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the War of 1812, United Methodist Women, Home Extension, Morris Women's Club and Eastern Star. She was an avid genealogist and took great pride that a grandparent served in the Civil War. In 1935 she received a scholarship to the University of Illinois and studied Home Economics. She is a graduate of Arizona State University. In 1937 she married her husband, Jess L Chamberlain, an electrical engineer and agricultural student at the University of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985, her brother, Raymond and his wife, Frances, and her brother, John Lawrence Spiegel. She has two nieces, Karen and Ruth and a nephew, Forrest. She is survived by her son Robert Bruce Chamberlain, of E. Peoria, Illinois; his wife MaryAnn and grandchildren, Michael, Robert and David Chamberlain and nine great grandchildren; her daughter, Ellen C. Hanson and her husband John V. Hanson, of Morris, Illinois; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Martin) Burkard of Carillo, CA. and their children, Tor and Arik Burkard and John Michael and Richard (Jasmin) Hanson; and her son, Jess (Jean) Chamberlain of Chandler, AZ. Funeral services for Esther J. Chamberlain will be Saturday, March 3, 2012 where she will lie in state from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 118 W. Jackson Street, Morris, Illinois, with Pastor Scott McClellan officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Endowment Fund at First United Methodist Church of Morris, Illinois, Morris Women's Club or DAR would be appreciated. Arrangements by: FRED C.
