Obituary of Doris Zweig

Doris M. Zweig (nee Witczak) Age 85, of Minooka, IL, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at Morris Hospital. Born September 8, 1929 to the late Frances (nee Esler) and Stanley Witczak in Joliet, IL where she was raised and educated, a graduate of St. Francis Academy, class of 1949. She was a lifetime Joliet area resident. Beloved mother of Susan (late Robert) Ancel and Lorie Johnson both of Minooka; loving grandmother of David (Gina) Ancel of Morris and Steven Johnson of Chicago; proud great-grandmother of Darcy and Jordan Ancel; fond aunt of Kim Goshorn and Mike Witczak and their families. Preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Kermit T. Zweig and three grandchildren, Brandi K. Johnson; Brian and Gregory Ancel. Doris retired from DeSoto Chemical after over 20 years of service. She was a swimmer with the Briggs YMCA "Rusty Hinges" and enjoyed many travel adventures with that group. Funeral services for Doris M. Zweig will be held Friday, February 6, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, with Rev. Bill Beagle officiating. As it was Doris' wish, cremation rites will follow her services and Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Columbarium at Elmhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the American Heart Association. Visitation Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
