Obituary of Stanley Preiksa
Stanley C. Preiksa
Age 69, of Plainfield, IL, died Friday February 6, 2015 at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital after a hard fought battle against cancer.
He was born June 25, 1945 to the late Dorothy (nee Petrauskas) and Walter Preiksa in Chicago. He was raised and educated on the South side and had resided in Plainfield since 1970.
A U.S. Air Force Veteran who served in Viet-Nam, Stan was a machinist at Electromotive of LaGrange and retired several years ago after over 40 years of service.
Beloved husband of 44 years to the late Alice, nee Temby (Nov 15, 2014); Loving father of Michelle (Jimmy) Pape; proud grandfather of Alexis Wolfe; dear brother of Janet (Thomas) Antonacci; fond nephew of Dorothy (late Paul) Petrauskas. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
In addition to his wife Alice, who passed away just this past November, Stosh is also preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Susan Preiksa and one brother Anthony Preiksa.
Stan enjoyed target shooting, flying remote control helicopters, tinkering with and driving fast cars as well as maintaining a meticulous lawn. Every now and again, when you would least expect it, you could fall victim to one of Stosh's pranks. He truly will be missed.
As it was Stan's wish, cremation rites have been accorded. He and Alice's final earthly remains will be Interred together, privately, at a later date, in St. Casimir Cemetery, Chicago. Memorials in his name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
