Obituary of Daniel Kola

Daniel Kola Age 36, of Joliet, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center. Born February 20, 1978 in Joliet, he was the son of the late Walter and Margaret (nee Lopartz) Kola. He was a graduate of Joliet Catholic Academy and attended Joliet Junior College. He was most recently employed as a truck driver. Dan had a big heart and was an unselfish and kind man to everyone. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bears and Bulls fan and a collector of Chicago sports memorabilia, especially of Michael Jordan. Survived by his aunts, Anna Marie (Robert) McIntosh of Joliet, and Frances (late Albert C.) Pomykala of Florida; and numerous cousins including Joe McIntosh, Andy (Andrea) McIntosh, Jim McIntosh, Albert D. Pomykala and Donna (Randy) Strong. Preceded by his parents and his grandmother, Sadie Lopartz, who helped raise him. Visitation for Daniel Kola will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment will take place Friday, at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Crest Hill.
