Obituary of Audrey Berg

Aubrey B. Berg (nee Freye) Age 88. Passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at Park Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born September 4,1926 to Albert Freye and Lillian (nee Geske) Mize and raised by extended family in the Joliet area. Survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Orland Berg; daughter, Karen of Overland Park, Kansas; son, James (Connie) of Minooka; one grandson, Christopher (Aimee) of Minooka; one granddaughter Sheri (Eddie) Chartrand of Joliet; three great-grandchildren, Dawson Berg, Sophia and Benjamin Chartrand; two brothers, Lawrence (Sharon) and Fredrick (Billy) Mize and several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by an infant daughter; her parents; step-father Clifford Mize; sister Beverly (Poppe) and brothers Albert and Richard Freye. Aubrey and Orland met while they were both working for the Frankfort Sale Plane Company prior to Orland's deployment. Aubrey and Orland were married after his return from WWII, February 15, 1947, where they moved to the rural Plattville/ Minooka area where Aubrey lived independently with her husband until her death. Retired from the USDA-Kendall County ASCS Office after 22 years. She is an honorary member of the USS Samuel B. Roberts, in memory of her father who was killed in combat during WWII. Aubrey B. Berg will lie in state at Plattville Lutheran Church, 5475 Bell Road, Minooka, IL 60447, on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 9 a.m. until time of her funeral services at 11 a.m. Rev. Bret Reedy officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Plattville Lutheran church would be appreciated. Fred C.
