Obituary of Henry Dillon
Henry Herbert Francis Dillon
Age 82, born December 25,1932 in Chicago, Illinois passed away suddenly on March 1, 2015. He was a Veteran of the Korean War in the U.S. Navy.
He was an active member of American Legion Post 1080. He was also a volunteer with I&M Canal, Will County Historical Society, Joliet Museum, Sunny Hill Nursing Home and NRA. His loyalty was specific with the Veterans. He was a member of Pipe Fitters Local 597 for 60 years. He loved to read and was an avid historian.
He is survived by wife Carol Jean Dillon; loving father of Denise (Ron) Zuhn, David (Laura) Dillon, Kimberly Dillon and Susan (Don) Bishop; beloved grandfather of 11 grandchildren, Kyle (Sydney) Zuhn, Matthew Zuhn, Vickie Dillon, Jodle Dillon, Donald Bishop III, David Dillon Jr, Terrence Dillon, Megan Dillon, Kaylee Bishop, Ashley Zuhn and Madeline Dillon; Step father of Laura Wells, Michael Wells; step grandfather of Scarlett Crates; step great grandfather of Jadden Hall.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Vickie Lynn Dillon.
Funeral Services for Henry Herbert Francis Dillon will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the U.S. Navy. Visitation Thursday, 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
