Obituary of Virginia Childers

Virginia M. Childers (nee Schutz) Age 81, of Joliet, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at The PARC at Joliet. Virginia was an active member of Margaret Street Church of Christ. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother and a sweet and caring grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are her two sons, Robert "Greg" Childers of Minooka and Mark S. (Cynthia) Childers of Washington, WV; her grandchildren, Jeff, Joey (Jessica), Sean (Toni), Austin, Faith Lynette and Sarah Childers; and one great-grandson, Ollie Jay. Preceded by her beloved husband, Robert Gordon Childers (2004); and her parents, Funeral services for Virginia Childers will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Rev. Matt Bassford will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Further visitation will be held Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at McBride Funeral Home, 206 N. Commerce St., Ripley, MS. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Ashland, MS.
