Obituary of Thaddeus Sliwinski
Thaddeus J. "Ted" Sliwinski
Age 79, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. He was born December 19, 1935 to the late Sophie Sliwinski and Ted Slew in Harvey, IL, he was raised and educated in Joliet, a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School.
Beloved husband of 49 years to the late Muriel E. (nee White) Sliwinski (2005); beloved father of Ron (Connie) Sliwinski, Bob Sliwinski and Dee Sliwinski; devoted grandfather of Brad (Amanda) and Dennis (Amanda) Sliwinski; proud great grandfather of Blake, Corrine and Brianna; dear brother of Beverly (Rev. Charles) Marvin; fond brother-in-law of Garrett (Joanne) White. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families, as well as his "adopted" children, Chuck and Deb Thompson, Lynn and Terry Fuller and family (Whitney and Taylor).
Ted is also survived by his loving and supportive companion Rose Lorenz.
Preceded in death by his wife, his mother, father, step-mother and several aunts.
Ted, a sports fan and die hard Cubs fan, retired as a maintenance supervisor from Argonne National Laboratory in the mid nineties after many years of service.
The Sliwinski family will forever be grateful for the amazing care afforded Ted by Dr. Ada Paolucci. Her friendship, compassion and dedication will always be remembered.
As it was Ted's wish, cremation rites have been accorded. All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Thursday, March 26, 2015, 1:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington), Joliet, where a memorial service will be conducted by his brother-in-law, Rev. Charles Marvin.
