"Roy"
Age 64. Peacefully passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 with family by his side. Born in Mission, TX and a lifelong Joliet and Rockdale area resident. Retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after over 35 years of service as a welder. He was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.
Preceded by his father, Felipe Guerrero; one brother, Gilbert Guerrero; one niece, Michelle Hinojosa; and one nephew, Dr. Tony Guerrero.
Survived by his mother, Trinidad (nee Flores) Guerrero of Joliet; loving wife of 43 years, Maricela (nee De La Rosa) Guerrero of Rockdale; one daughter, Hilda Orozco of Rockdale; one son, Rogelio "Roy" Guerrero Jr. of Plainfield; three grandchildren, Reyna Orozco, Angelo Orozco and Rogelio Guerrero, III; one great-grandson, Izayah; five sisters, Janie (Angel) Trinidad of Joliet, Alma (Boyd) Stewart of Metropolis, IL, Elida Hinojosa of Joliet, Leticia (Daryl) Magolan of Rockdale and Maria (David) Bandosz of Minooka; five brothers, Carlos of Edinburg, TX, Ray (Carolina), Robert and Adam, all of Joliet, and Rolando (Suzy) Guerrero of Shorewood; numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Visitation for Rogelio F. Guerrero will be held Friday, March 27, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral services at 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Pastors Isidro "Sid" Casillas and Salvadore Guerrero officiating. As it was Rogelio's request, Cremation Rites will be accorded following his services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Guerrero family so that they may distribute them to a Pediatric Cancer Care Children's Hospital in his name would be appreciated. For information: (815) 741-5500
