I remember when Pete and his attractive family first moved to Richland Center--a real asset to the community. Pete and Jon became poplular immediately.
In high school, Pete was one of the "cool" athletes, but he was more than just a "jock." He was intelligent, gentle, and courteous. His conversations were often laced with humor, usually wry. One image stands out in my mind: I can still see him running down the ramp in the old RCHS that led from the gym to a lower hall, wearing Wranglers and a t-shirt, the very figure of the poetic "fleet-footed lad."
After graduating from UW-Madison, Pete and I were friends in Minneapolis for a time. One night he was excited about seeing the Smothers Brothers, who were performing somewhere downtown. He really liked their humor--and could appreciate it--even before they became famous.
We lost touch for a while, and the only times I saw him after Minneapolis were at the class reunions in RC. I observed that the friendships he had forged during his high school days evidently were permanent. His Hornet buddies were there for him through thick and thin. As was Sue, not a high school classmate, but later his wonderful wife and companion.
Pete will live on in the memories of many. I know he'll be missed.

Pete enjoyed a good laugh -- and the Midvale Manor (5) roommates had a lot of laughs during 1958-59 at UW in Madison and in subsequent reunions. Pete was a sharp guy in the business world and skilled in golf (which supported his business achievements). His wonderful wife Sue complemented his life and life style, and oh how did she take care of him. We will miss him greatly and God's Grace to Sue and family with their many memories of Pete.

Our sincerest sympathy is extended to the entire family, at the passing of your beloved Pete! We enjoyed working with him at his office (he guided us very well). God has taken his pain and suffering away. Now it is time to reflect on all the beautiful memories held close to your hearts; they will sustain you through the difficult days ahead.

The thing we remember the most about Pete is that he welcomed us all so many times to his house for Small Group Bible Study.
We always liked to ask him about his multiple holes-in-one.

Remembering Miss Kathryn Eagan's typing class in the 50's and the handsome newcomer, Pete Hoaglund, I was partnered with! And I recall with fondness that Pete made it back to most of our class reunions in Richland Center with Sue. We had some good times and lots of memories!
