Obituary of Dorothy Carlton

Dorothy Ann Carlton (nee Delaney) Age 78. Suddenly Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Alton, IL to the late Henry J. and Loretta A. (nee Dashley) Delaney. She resided in Joliet most of her life. Dorothy worked with her late husband, Don, in the real estate industry. Member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, the Red Hat Society and the Therapeutic Pool Class at Willow Falls. Dorothy loved shopping, musicals and plays. She always looked forward to dining out with Don. Survived by her loving daughter, Becky McCarney of Joliet; four grandchildren, Emily, Patrick, Kevin and Molly McCarney; two nieces, Mary Therese (Bill) Napleton and Felicia Hester; and four nephews, Pat and Mike Keenan and David and Steve Hester. Preceded by her loving husband, Don Carlton (2005); her sister, Mary Kennan; and brother, Joseph Delaney. Funeral Services for Dorothy Carlton will be Monday, April 20, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Private interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Rheumatoid Arthritis at www.arthritistoday.org, the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.jdrf.org would be appreciated.
