Age 91. Passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Joliet to the late George and Anna (nee Adams) Princko. She was a lifelong resident. Member of Cantigny Post VFW #367 Ladies' Auxiliary. An avid Bulls fan and enjoyed visiting Las Vegas and trips to the local casinos. This past Christmas, Lucille dedicated a 10-foot decorated tree to the patients at JOHA as a reminder to never give up hope, a philosophy that Lu strived to live by.
Survived are three children, Luann Midlock, Mary Jo Shepich and Jerry (Millie) Shepich, all of Joliet; one grandson, Christopher (Kim) Midlock of Joliet; three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Makenna and Kayleigh Midlock; one sister, Loretta Brncich of Wilmington; sister-in-law, Dorothy Shepich of Crest Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her loving husband, Frederick Shepich (1989); one brother, George Princko; three sisters, Anna Jurevich, Helen Smith and Dolores Bebar.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Bhuvan Chawla, Dr. Beata Kisiel and staff, Dr. Nafisa Burhani, especially nurse Dina, Dr. John Walsh, as well as the Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Presence Home Healthcare Nursing staffs for their compassionate, loving care.
Funeral Services for Lucille L. Shepich will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment St. Mary Nativity Cemetery. Memorials in her name to the JOHA Foundation or St. Jude Children's Hospital would be appreciated. Visitation Monday, 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
